July 4, 2008 Part 2

On the fourth of July we visited Longwood Gardens at Kennett Square, PA. The gardens were beautiful and what a nice way to spend the day. The weather was overcast, but there was a nice breeze blowing which made a quite comfortable day. Our final treat for the day was their fountains and the fireworks display. The Gardens at Longwood There were some creatures at Longwood. The Italian Garden Tree Houses The Canopy Cathedral The Loft The Bird Cage And there were fountains. Excerpt from the water show. Topiary Garden Towards the end of the day the weather took a change for the worse. We needed to try and keep our spot in the viewing area and also keep it dry. Barbara had her book with her and volunteered for the task. I took this time to enter the conservatory while she was reading. Protecting our spot at the viewing area. The Conservatory Orchid Display Children always love to play in the water, so here the childrens’ garden gave them the chance. The fireworks display was really fabulous, but you will need to go to part 3 of the blog to see them. I am showing them separate to make sure I have enough bytes for the entire display.
