March 21, 2008 Good Friday

David and I went to Good Friday Services at an Episcopal church that was near where he worked and that we would pass each time to the hotel. Saint Gabriel's was the site of the first church in Berks County, founded by the Swedish Lutherans in 1720. It was later changed to Protestant Episcopal in 1760. The stained glass windows were striking beautiful with their colors, but what caught my eye was a tiny window with a star located at the very apex of the altar.

Beside the church there was a cemetery and an old chapel belonging to St. Gabriels where a contemporary church is holding services.
